I recently got some Hygrophilia Pinnatifida. Now it is in low tech tank which doesn't get any Co2 additive. I have read that it needs Co2 additive. Thus wondering if anyone has had it in a tank without Co2 additive?

My biggest issue with the plant is usually during acclimation. I've been able to keep it in non-Co2 injected tanks but only if they make through acclimating to the new tank parameters. Usually you can tell if it will convert over within the first couple of weeks. So I guess it really depends on the natural CO2 levels in your system. I will say that it did MUCH better with CO2, in some of the tanks I had it in with out Co2 it would be alive and healthy but barely any new growth. Excel seems to not do anything at all to help with the acclimation.

I am hoping that dosing with Liqui-Kelp will help it to acclimate. I got it July 21. Seems to be hanging in. Here it is today, July 27, 2015.
