After countless medications and salt baths im down to about 4 guppies out of 15 from columnaris. Im wasting my money with medications that arent remotely helping at all. Ive decided to let nature take its course and let them go 1 by 1.

Im going to bleach the whole tank after theyre gone but I have a ADF and 3 mystery snails in there which I'm going to remove and place in qt. After I bleach the whole tank and cycle it again, ill place them back in. What can I treat the snails and adf with so the disease doesnt reintroduce itself into the tank from them?

From what I heard ADFs and snails cannot catch it but I could be wrong.

This link will give you real info on treating columnaris from someone in the killie world that has spent years figuring this stuff out. He knows what he is talking about.

Columnaris is a gram negative bacterial infection. That link has to do with nematoades

Lower temps to 75 or lower if possible. I have the oxytetracycline food (small pellets) they advise in addition to the meds. I also have meth blue. If you would live closer to me I could give you some and I am off all day tomorrow and home. PM me if you are interested in some of the food and meth blue and willing to make the drive. If not Ken's fish sells it on line.
Also I did a little more reading and while snails cannot get it, frogs are unknown but there has not been a confirmed case that I could find.
Another good read

Also bleaching does little to prevent a recurrence but waiting 5 to 6 weeks or a little longer to be on the safe side (but a minimum of 32 days) will kill off the bacteria if left without a host.

I think what Im going to do is peroxide the whole tank then wait a month to month and a half before I reintroduce fish.
