Does anyone know if the tanks sold as 40 gallon reptile tanks any different then the 40 gallon breeder tanks? Like of the glass is thinner between them or anything.

Should be able to verify that by googling the specs for the tanks, but if my memory serves me correctly I was told they do have thinner glass.

I wouldn't trust them also they tend to have that weird built in lid slide that has a lower edge on one side.

Reptile tanks use a different silicone and usually not waterproof. Also use thinner glass.

They should have a piece of paper at the bottom that says "Don't fill with water"

Correct. Reptile tanks are not meant to hold water. Most of the time made from cheaper window glass.

That's what I was suspecting as well, but I wanted to double check. I helping a friend trying to get a bigger tank for his boa constrictor and he was offering me the tank if I wanted, but wasn't 100% sure if I was correct or not. Thanks for following up with the info.
