It's not awful for new. Persmart is 650 for a 120 ensemble but it was 50% off on black Friday. I'd personally try to be at 300-350, but I'm really cheap.

You'll want to make sure the caulk is still on all the seams in good condition. And make sure it doesn't leak, even if it means filling when you get there. All the way up to make sure under full pressure there isn't a leak.

Is it new or used?
For brand new I think that's acceptable, I'd counter for $400.

If used it depends on the condition...

its used, they already have it set up and filled with water, there arent any leaks but this is $450 after bargaining. another guy is selling the same size 120 gal with base but no canopy, LED lights, filter worth $100 brand new, black sand, and heater all for $650 after bargaining, i dont know if the light, sand, filter and heater is worth another $200 if i can get just the basic stuff for $450 -_-

It really does totally depend on the quality of the tank, furniture, and lights. Could be a great deal, but it could also be a bad deal. Have link or pics?

Stepping back a bit, how new to the hobby are you? If you are just starting out, I would not recommend getting your feet "wet" with a 120. Maybe go a bit smaller to start. A 20 or 29 are good sizes, and will keep it simple.

As for the current deal, I agree with Len. It will depend on the details. LED lights can vary enormously in price. Is the stand and canopy made with real wood or particleboard? Does it have any water damage?

Comparing the two deals with limited information, I like the $450 setup. Sand/gravel is cheap, and good used filters are not hard to find. Search Eheim on eBay, and you'll see plenty. For the $200 difference, you can get a lot of accessories. Good luck.
