Has anyone used Black worm castings topped with sand in their aquarium?

I have this in a tank capped with gravel. Been up and going for around 3-4 months. No issues and plants doing well.

3-4 months is when if there are going to be problems there will be.

Interesting substrate. How big is your tank? How many bags did you have to use? Got a pic of the tank?

55g. I used 1 bag, may have had some left over that I used in another. I can't remember. It's my plecos, guppy and mystery snail breeding tank so it's not that pretty but it's very functional :)https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170913/1008f62160dfc6e171c34070041dd90c.jpg

Since you have special dirt, I am surprised that you don't have more crypt plants in there.

Those crypt spiralis on the left started out as 3 plants :)
