View Full Version : Dwarf Varieties versus Fry?

Okay, so I have had a trio of dwarf sunset platies for like... a year now. The adults are about an inch and a half long. I'd like to get ABC points for them, but I have hesitated to bring any juveniles to auction because even at 60 days, they look like fry! Is labeling the bag "dwarf" sufficient? How would you tell dwarf varieties from very young, normal sized fish (I'm thinking about the 'teacup' pigs that turn into 400 pound porkers)? For livebearers, it's reasonably easy since the males have a well-developed gonopodium at a size smaller than you would expect to be able to sex them...

Am I just overthinking this?

You're overthinking it.

I think most of the "rules" are in place so that people do not bring in wigglers.

As for believing the labeling on the bag, that is why we write our names on the bags.
