so my dwarf hairgrass is staying lower than i would care for. wondering is SAEs, Bristlenose plecos, or botia loaches are the culprit? otherwise, i will assume it is a co2/light/fert situation. anyone know if any of those 3 fish mow dwarf hairgrass?

how tall is it growing? Hairgrasses come in all different heights, so you may have one of the shorter species. None of those fish should eat your plants, but it will be difficult to grow a carpet with botiids in the tank!

Hair grass does really well under Med-High to High light with CO2 injected into the tank. Your plecos may be the problem. Have you noticed that some of the ends have been cut or show signs of being eaten? SAE's might eat it if there is no/limited algae for them to eat.
