I tried these after reading that they are easy to propagate. This was not my experience. It took about 6 months for them to start new shoots about 5 inches from the original ones... since the last two weeks two more shoots are growing. It seems that it likes CO2 and high light and of course fert.

I love how it looks ...... to me it looks better than the much more expensive Eriocaulon Parkeri ...... I have both but the Dwarf Sag is growing better and fast than the EP ....... I paid $1 for the Dwarf Sag and $8 a plant for the Erio Parkeri ...... they look about the same and cost is a big difference ......... that's my 2 cents worth!!!

I have this plant and it will grow in just about any tank conditions, but it is every spotty and for me hasn't given a very thick carpet cover that most people are looking for.

Have dwarf sag as the only plant in a 20g long since february. It took a while to take off though. It does spread fairly well after a while, but will take a while to really fill in the voids. Not really sure how well the name dwarf sag applies to it though, it grows easily 6"+ in some places.

What kind of lighting to you have? I have it growing in my 40gal and it hasn't grown over 2 inches in height.

2 22" 24w t5 ho. This is the fertilizer regimen I use or well I just guesstimate a fair bit.
50% H20 change-weekly
1/4 Tsp-KN03 3x a week
1/16 Tsp-KH2P04 3x aweek
1/2 Tsp-GH booster once a week
5ml or 1/16Tsp-Trace 3x a week

That could be why mine haven't gotten that big. I don't dose my tank. I did a dirt with clay, muriate of potash, dolomite, and then a layer of substrate over it. Only extra thing that I do add is a co2 booster.

I have it growing in my 29G tank with Coralife light strip T5NO 2x 18W. Seems to be growing more since I started dosing with Brightwell aquatics FlorinFe (iron oxide, iron sulfate). Now I have swithced to Select aquatics dry ferts (selectaquatics.com, Greg Sage 303-204-8662). Also dose with metricide diluted in place of Seachem excel.

You really don't want dwarf sag as a carpet plant, more like pygmy chain sword, dwarf hairgrass,HC(dwarf baby tears),Dwarf four leaf clover...Just a few off the top of my head...If you want some Pygmy Chain Sword let me know,I grow massive amounts of it...

Check me out and see for yourself...

Hope to hear from you,Oz
