Got all the substrate in.....48 pounds of CaribSea Midnight Black Fluorite, and a piece of spider wood i picked up a couple of weeks ago.

took forever to wash 4 bags of fluorite, when they say prewashed, i think it's prewashed with mud.........lol
Just glad i decided to do it out in the driveway:)

Looking good Drew and glad it went to a good home!

I purchased some fluorite and put it in a bucket just to give some plants a place to rest for a few days with a heater dropped in. Same experience. It looked like a mud puddle for a day or so and without filtration it settled down in a few days. You may have to put a big rock to hold that driftwood down once you get water in there. I had a heavy piece I put in the 135 and it took a couple of weeks to get it water logged.

Keep the pictures coming.

Thanks!!!

Right now I have:

3 Hatchet Fish
2 Angel Fish
2 Rummy Nose Tetras
3 Black Skirt Tetra
1 Black Ghost Knife
1 Oto
1 Singapore Flower Shrimp
6 Ghost Shrimp

I'm trying to decide what to add to it. I'm thinking maybe a couple of Coral Red Pencil Fish if i can find them....or maybe a couple of Killi Fish.....I'm not sure yet. I've been considering a school of Celestial Pearl Danios but I'm afraid it would just be $100 fish food....lol

Be interested how your shrimps will do. In my 125 where there are 2 pairs + 20 juv. Angelfish, I saw a shrimp in the moss. In a different tank, I found that even with tiger endlers, I did not get the shrimp population explosion as I did with livebearer endlers. In 4 months, I only got a few extra grown shrimps, whereas the other tank (livebearer endlers) had an exponential growth. Keep us posted!

I have a nice Stihl 21" chain saw that might do the trick. Just let me know when you're ready!

added a few new "friends" to the tank today......i only had the 2 rummynose and they always stayed hidden so i picked up 6 more to add. now they don't stay hidden so much. i may add 4 more just to make an even dozen.....depending on how these do.

For a "noob" tank it looks great. I'm sure you cannot wait for your plants to grow. I second civics14, the driftwood adds a wonderful touch.
