Do you use leaves in your tanks? What kind and how do you identify them so you don't get the "wrong" ones. I bought some Indian Almond leaves, but I'd like to use some leaves I could identify and gather locally.

I use oak, gathered where there is only oak trees lol. I love the look, but be warned, if you like a clean white sand bed then thats hard to keep. If you don't mind the swampy look leaves are great.

I also add oak twigs and small limbs.

Oak leaves is what I have used for a leaf litter. Just make sure wherever you get them from there isn't pesticides being sprayed.

Lots of different kinds of "oak". I guess they are all ok. I have used live oak leaves but the leaves are a little small. I think a bigger leaf would be better.
