After almost two years, a pair finally emerged a few days ago:

Pretty happy they did it, although I'm almost certain the eggs will be gone by tomorrow. oh well, cichlids!

That's great! Congratulations. Patience is definitely needed in this hobby. Are you planning to raise the fry at future spawns?

Thanks :) I have no idea if the eggs would hatch - didn't see the actual spawning and only the female is still guarding today. Fingers crossed!

good luck. i spawned uraus a long while ago, not these ones, the 'normal' ones, amphi.... something. they were great parents, but i usually pulled the eggs.

Those are sweeeeeet looking with the red eye!

Thanks. I used to keep and spawn Uaru amphiacanthoides too. Not the most colorful species but they grow on you, lol

Totally grow on you...one of my all time favorites...is it too early to reserve some fry from your spawn?? lol.
