Some of you saw this tank in the back of my pickup at the February meeting. Back in December I decided I wanted to set up a large Wild Discus tank. I started looking for a 180 or a 220 and finally found this one. Picked it up night before the meeting. Built the stand out of 2x6's. The tank is 6' x 24" x 24". Just added the wilds this week.

Nice Larry! Fish and tank look great.

Thinking about adding a few more wilds myself. Where did you get them from?

Thanks Peter. I am REALLY happy with how these wilds are turning out. These came from John Kreatsoulas, Snookn21 on Simplydiscus and Aquabid. 5 of them are Manacupura Blues that I received the end of December. The rest of them are Cuipeua Super Reds. They were supposed to be lg but when John unboxed them he told me they were XL. Nice surprise. The largest ones I received are 7+". They were in QT for about a month and are really looking great.

John is one of my favorite vendors. I was going to get a group of Heckels from him but don't have room - still waiting for stands to be built for three big tanks :(

That's not the same background that you used to have in the 120 right?

I have bought a lot of wilds from John but last season was a little disappointed with what he had available. Maybe it was just the season. This season he is back to getting in some really nice wilds.

The background is not the same but it is from the same vendor. This is the only one they sell that comes in a 28" height. The cool thing about it is that it is actually thin enough that it will bend. He actually sent it to me rolled up. This means that I was able to put the 6' x 28" piece in as one piece. The others have to be cut and put in as sections.

Very cool Larry. They were having a lot of trouble with those earthworms.

When I first introduced the red wigglers to them I was afraid I was going to have to chop them up. At first they looked like they just weren't going to be able to handle them whole. They do seem to really enjoy it though and when I come back to the tank an hour of so later, magically they are all gone.

I've never kept discus. I have always considered them too much trouble but if you keep posting all these pictures and videos I may have to reconsider.

They are all females....duh. don't you know that females don't like people watching them when they pig out :-)
