View Full Version : Shipping plants/inverts to puerto rico?

Someone asked me if I was willing to mail them some plants there, thought I would check here first. Are there any rules or restrictions for mailing plants/inverts to Puerto Rico? Would be shipping with USPS domestic, probably in a flat rate box if that is allowed.

There are certain species that are considered invasive pests...but I have sent plant cuttings from my tanks to my Aquarista buddies in Puerto Rico with no problems - I just made sure they were double-bagged, wrapped in wet paper towels, and with plenty of absorbent material around the bags. I used a styro-lined box, and used the USPS.

Thanks, guess I'll go ahead and ship, see what happens.

As long as it isn't on their restricted list, it will be fine. We've shipped there quite a bit and I believe it arrived in 2 days each time.
