Got a few to play with. These are "believed" to be from a cross between albino P. scalare and P. altum, originally bred by Danziger in Israel.

Those are beautiful Peter. Can't tell you how many times I've been David's website and thought about buying some.

Thanks Larry. I've been skeptical all along (still am) about what they really are. Story is that someone at Danziger Discus bought some scalare x altums from Germany, and one pair threw out 20 albino fry, which were ancestors of all the albino Dantums now. They do have some altum traits, but I have yet to see proof that P. scalare can be crossed to P. altum to produce fertile fry (honestly I don't believe it, lol).

These came from Greg, a member on TAF II. Video of the parent:

I'm guessing he got them from David Label at Angelfishusa. David is the US distributor for Danziger. David also imports Tony Tan Discus and I know him from that side of his business. He was very excited about getting these in. Think it was middle of last year when he first got them. At the time he said he was skeptical also.

Yes he did get them from David. Albino Dantum is actually a registrered trade mark for angelfishusa, lol

How often are these available! They looks awesome! Never seen them before. Just got a second 55gallon and not sure when I will set it up but when I do these would be great to have.

Hi Larry - they've grown. Eating well and very outgoing.

Still have them in the grow out tank. Temp is in low 70s (heating the room). Hopefully they will get into the mood in the spring :)
