  1. Setting up the 125 - Part 3

Well, as things are progressing, I am pleased to report that my ammonia levels are now at 0 and my nitrites are sky high, with my nitrates starting to register as well. Maybe only a few more weeks and the cycle will be finished! Yay! In the meantime, here are a couple of photos I took this weekend of the tank and the Fluval FX5 (pardon little Zappy in the picture, she follows me around the house like a kid brother).

    Cycling away,

    Dan.

  2. Setting up the 125 - Part 2

Well, I decided to go with just a bit of flourite in the bottom of the tank and I went to Lowe's to get the pea gravel for $3.50 a bag and saved a TON of money compared to buying bags of "aquarium gravel" no offense to our retail club members! I tried to run the hose from outside to the tank but the hose was frozen. So I had to go with my 44 gallon rubbermaid trashcan that I use for water changes. 30 gallons at a time! Here are a few photos of my progress the other night (Monday or ...

    1. I want the tank to occupy the space where my 55 is currently sitting. My 55 will be moved to the area where a 20 currently is, with the 20 going on the bottom rack below the 55. Since the fry have hatched and are free swimming now, ive decided not to do a day by day blog. I will keep the blog open and will update when anything inetresting happens.

The color and the features of the fry are more noticeable now with them being a grey/white speckle.

(May 2nd) Most of the fry have gone, not sure if the parents ate them or if it was my fault. I have managed to net the remaining 6 and place them in a breeder tank inside the parents tank. I have been ...

  5. Breeding My Kribensis (Day 21-30)

    DAY 21. . .
Finally !!!!!! As i was feeding the Kribs at around 4pm today i noticed the female was nowhere to be seen. I looked inside the PVC pipe and their she was fanning the eggs. I had a quick look and then left the tank alone as i dont want to spook her. Im really hoping they dont eat the eggs this time.

    DAY 22. . .
Although this morning the eggs are still in the pipe im not sure that the pair know what to do just yet. I was expecting to not see the Female for ...
