We'll have a Q&A panel where you can ask questions of experienced club members about any and every topic imaginable! Aquascaping, African Lake Cichlids, water change frequency, illness treatment, pesky algae control, etc. Audience participation and contribution to answers are welcomed as well!

Also: The bubblers are not required. If someone wants to bring one, I would like for it to be battery powered. No plants allowed.

I think that anabantid fish like gouramis, paradise fish, and bettas will be fine. It will be for about 2 1/2 hours. This is also another reason why I changed the max tank size to 10 gallons this year -- you can give you fish more surface area for oxygen exchange if you fill a larger tank with less water to make it shallow. Helps to prevent jumping, too. :)

What about substrate? Do you want a clean bottom as well? Also, will the use of a back ground be permitted? Must all walls of the tank be clear, or just the one flat one?

Good question! The tank should be bare. No substrate, no background. :)
