    CO2 tank exchange

    Hi all,
I bought a co2 tank about 5 yrs ago and the hydro on the tank is now expired. Since this is the first time my tank expired, really need advice from you all. I would like to know where you go to exchange your steel co2 tank and how much does it cost for a tank exchange. I am located near the Duluth area.

Airgas in lawrenceville will do an exchange. Cost depends on how big of a tank

They will only exchange if the hydro date is valid still. For any place you will first have to send it out to get Hydro tested then you can exchange or refill it again. Most of the time the cost of the hydro test makes it a lot more sense to just buy a new tank every 5 years. Typically around $30-35 to test + possible shipping costs.

I think it is because they don't fill at the Lawrenceville airgas. They just load them up and send them to airgas in Cumming for filling/testing
